At Trinity, we are fortunate to have many highly skilled, talented and experienced parents and community members. One such parent is Mrs Susan Anderson, the Global Head of Business for Uber. Mrs Anderson recently ran a Careers Masterclass for our Year 10, 11 and 12 students, giving them advice and a number of great tips for a successful career in today’s world. Her 18 year career includes financial services, strategy consulting for Bain & Company, a global management consulting firm and tech, for global giants, Amazon and Uber so it was a privilege for our Senior Years students to hear and learn from someone who has such deep real-world/life business experience. Her top 5 tips are as follows:
Work hard, don’t expect any free rides, Earn It Every Day.
Don’t be afraid to fail, learn from your mistakes.
Be willing to take risks.
Know your team, teamwork and communication are key.
Inclusion – Listen to different ways of thinking, understand different perspectives.
Susan will also be a guest speaker at our Business Breakfast on June 4 at the Southport Yacht Club along with Dr Dinesh Palipana OAM, Qld State Recipient Australian of the Year 2021,Doctor, Lawyer, Quadriplegia & Disability Advocate and Dr Shahina Braganza, Senior Emergency Physician and Acting Clinical Director at GC University Hospital.
