About Us

Our Heart

As a school of the church, our fundamental role is to offer students a sound and integrated education within the Christian tradition and to nurture a personal Christian faith.

THE LUTHERAN CHURCH

Trinity Lutheran College is a school of the Lutheran Church of Australia. The Lutheran Church, worldwide, is one of the major Christian churches. Our origins go back to the 16th century and a monk, Martin Luther. He studied the Bible and began to realise that its central message is about God’s overwhelming love for us in Christ. The Bible teaches that we are saved by God’s grace, through faith in Jesus Christ, and not by our own efforts to please God. Christ’s death on the cross, and His Resurrection mean that we are God’s family, loved, forgiven and free to serve in the global community for which Christ gave His life.

christian ethos

Trinity Lutheran College is a co-educational school owned and operated by the Lutheran Church of Australia, Queensland District. As a school of the church, it holds that its fundamental role is to offer students a sound and integrated education within the Christian tradition and to nurture a personal Christian faith. Trinity offers a holistic educational experience founded in the Gospel, because it is our firm conviction that fullness of life is savoured within a Christian framework.

The college seeks to be a Christian community in which staff and students alike give expression to their Christian faith, with love and concern in their relationships with each other and in corporate worship. Chapel services led by students, staff and the college pastors occur regularly each week. Parents and friends are always welcome to these services. Devotional activities occur within class and pastoral care group time, which further support faith and personal development.

WORSHIP AND CHRISTIAN STUDIES

Worship is central to college life. The college worship program involves
a variety of formats. In the junior years it takes various forms, including morning class devotions, prayer time and special seasonal worship activities. Weekly chapel services are designed to allow students to participate joyfully and in a meaningful way by singing, praising God, hearing His word, and praying. Parents, friends and grandparents are most welcome to attend. Each class will present at least one chapel service for their peers and visitors each year.

Formal chapels are conducted on both of our campuses weekly.

Junior Years: Every Friday in the Robert Hoff Community Hall at 8.55 am.

Middle & Senior Years: Every Wednesday in The Trinity Centre at 9.40am.

Smaller less formal devotions occur in classrooms (Junior Years) and in pastoral care groups (Middle & Senior Years) as part of the pastoral care and House programs. The college recognises the wide range of needs
and denominations within its community. Worship programs are rounded in Lutheran theology, and are structured in such a way as to nurture spiritual and faith formation. Parents, grandparents and friends are
welcome to attend chapel services.
