SENIOR years

Years 10 to 12

The Senior Years mark an important stage of growth, as students take on greater academic challenge and independence while preparing for life beyond Trinity. These years are purposeful, engaging and shaped around both learning and personal development.

Supported by experienced teachers, contemporary learning approaches and thoughtfully integrated technology, students are encouraged to think deeply, work independently and strive for their personal best. Throughout the Senior Years, students are guided and supported as they grow into confident, capable young adults, prepared for life beyond Trinity.

PERSONALISED PATHWAYS

In the Senior Years, learning pathways become increasingly personalised, supporting students to develop their strengths and pursue areas of interest across academic, cultural, sporting and vocational pathways.

Strong career planning, academic monitoring and guidance help students make informed choices as they work towards future goals, including pathways leading to ATAR and vocational qualifications. Each student is supported to follow a pathway that reflects their abilities, interests and aspirations.

At Trinity, we focus on the development of the whole person. Success is defined by growth, confidence and achievement that reflects each student’s personal best, whatever their chosen pathway.

PASTORAL CARE

Trinity has a Restorative Practices philosophy, in keeping with our Lutheran approach to education and relational management. This philosophy provides Trinity students with the opportunity to develop self-discipline and positive behaviours in a caring, supportive environment with quality relationships between all members of the school community – parent, students and staff alike – being the number one focus. We strive to make each girl and boy at Trinity Lutheran College feel safe, secure and valued.

OUR PROGRAMS

We offer a broad and diverse program to cover the unique interests and abilities of every senior student, and our teaching staff are highly capable of adapting to a variety of learning styles and requirements to ensure your child succeeds in their own unique way. Our learning programs include core subject offerings, certificate courses, extension programs and structured outdoor and development programs to provide students with a wide variety of learning pathways.

SHAPING OUR NEXT GENERATION

Trinity recognises how important these last few years of schooling are. Students are making decisions around not only on the subjects they study that will impact their final results, but also the life paths they want to take upon graduation. The years spent in our senior school will guide and shape your children into the adults they become. As one of the leading high schools on the Gold Coast shaped by fundamental Christian values, Trinity Lutheran College fosters an environment of personal growth and development as well as academic success. By equipping senior students with the knowledge, values and real-world abilities to move into the next stage of their life with confidence and passion, we are, in fact, shaping the next generation of leaders.

LEARNING EXTENSION

LEARNING SUPPORT

Our teaching and learning support team is headed up by a specialist teacher and we provide a supportive and collaborative approach for students needing additional support, creating a learning environment where all students can progress at their own rate and reach their full potential. We work closely with families to develop clear internal strategies and we can refer children to external professionals for further assessment if required.

We recognise that all students are individuals with varying needs, so we offer a variety of learning support systems, including:

BRING YOUR OWN DEVICE

Students in Years 6 to 12 participate in a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program, enabling them to use a device they are comfortable with and familiar software tools. This supports choice in how learning is demonstrated, from presentations and portfolios to collaborative and interactive tasks. Devices are integrated with the college’s cloud-based systems and are required to support a full day of learning
