extra-curricular

Learning in the Junior Years extends well beyond the classroom. Students are encouraged to explore a wide range of experiences across outdoor learning, sport, the arts, technology and co-curricular clubs.

These opportunities support healthy social development and academic growth, while allowing children to try new things, build confidence and begin discovering their interests and passions within a supportive community.

why invest in primary school?

Primary school is an important stage for academic and social performance for the long-term future. The primary years are also when children are most open to adults as wise mentors and to being positively influenced by good role models. They want to listen and are open to adult directions and support. Once at high school, children are more likely to be influenced and motivated by their peers.

During the primary school years we are also best able to identify and support learning issues and difficulties, and develop strategies to assist learning needs. Early intervention is then more likely to be short-term with the purpose of addressing and resolving issues before the high school years.

Primary school must kindle your child’s passion to learn. School is a long journey and a good, strong start will set them up for a lifetime of successful learning and personal growth. At Trinity, we make learning interesting and fun.

Why the Primary Years Matter

The primary years lay the foundation for a child’s learning, wellbeing and sense of self. It is a time when children are curious, open and deeply influenced by the relationships around them, making strong connections with teachers and trusted adults especially important.

These early years also provide valuable opportunities to understand each child as a learner. Identifying strengths, interests and any areas where support is needed allows learning to be guided with care and intention, helping children build confidence from the start.

Most importantly, primary school should nurture a love of learning. A positive, engaging beginning sets the tone for the years ahead, supporting children to approach learning with confidence, curiosity and joy as they continue their Trinity journey.
